Video Analytics: Cities Using LPR Systems to Prosecute Parking Violations

Cities that use street sweepers know how parked cars can hinder the efforts to keep streets clean. Every parked car means three car lengths worth of space that cannot be cleaned leaving contaminants to blow freely in the wind, which reduces the overall effectiveness of street cleaning operations. This means money is wasted, which is especially troubling in these tough economic times. A city LPR system will not only reduce parking violators over time but can also generate additional revenue for the city and pay for itself!
